The builder got a new toy

The builder was showing off with his new toy today. It went quite late before everything was mounted, batteries charged and instructions read. He is welcome back with his toy on a clear day and daytime. Front Left Side Front again

Electricity

Sorry for not posting for many days, but most of the time everyone is still working with the plastering, and it's a bit boring to add more pictures of that never ending process. Anyway, the electricians continued with some work today. Here is some pictures.. This yellow pipes will not be visible when the ceiling is in place. A lot of boxes Electricians are very good in climbing. Looks like a good job done.

Plastering continues

Right now, plastering is continuing both inside and outside. The last outer wall on the high part will be done today.

Plastering starts

It's now time to make the walls pretty. All walls will be plastered. This process is totally manually and labor intensive, so this will take very long time. Exactly as in other processes, the quality of the material (plaster) is very high. The Xpert Platinum plaster from SCG was selected, this kind is very resistant to cracking and makes smooth walls. The walls will be wet from the day before the plastering. Good quality of plaster was selected This part of the outer wall needs to be plastered before the last part of the roof is mounted. All to keep the roof clean. Some plastering result Its possible to plaster walls inside at the same time only if it's not an outer wall. Some result Labor intensive work Some before and after picture on the master bathroom wall

Checking the sun

Ang did some research today. The goal was to know how much of the sun will heat up some of the areas in the house now when the roof is there. Here is the result: Living- and Dining room at 14:00. It's still quite cool and the sun doesn't get in too much - Approved Back deck at 15:00. Still some parts doesn't have direct sun. At 16:00 the temperature of the sun is low enough to not cause to much problems. We need to plant som bushes or trees but the result is acceptable - Approved.

Roof - Part 2

The roof took three days. The put tiles both on the high roof and most part on the lower roof. They decided to wait with the part that is between the big and low part because the plastering work on the high wall could make the tiles very dirty and difficult to clean after. Another solution should have been covering the part, but that was not an option - they are the experts, so it's just to lean back and let them do what they want. Lats and lifting tiles. Some parts done Under the high roof Notice the security hooks and helmets (not?). Low roof Most ready now. The team will now wait for the plastering work on the outer walls on the high part and then its time to finishing up.

Roof - Part 1

The roof team was delayed due to some rain, but now they are here. There are many tiles to lift up to the roof, so 6 people are really needed. When I visited in the morning there was three persons working with the lift to the second floor by throwing the tiles. When they saw me they took a break and after that there was five persons instead to avoid the dramatic throws. I did not get the throwing on video, was a bit slow for that. Here is the video then they are five persons though: Some photos of the process to add tiles: Phone break The tiles are piling up Mounting the tile lath.

Preparation of the inner walls before plastering

The labors have to wait for the roof team to put on the roof tiles. They then spend some time to start prepare the walls in the bedrooms for plastering. This is done by adding a very fine net on the concrete parts of the wall.

Tiles

In the beginning of March we went to the big material shop in Pattaya - Boonthavorn to buy all the needed floor and wall tiles, this exercises took almost the whole day. After some days the tiles were delivered to the building site in a safe and good way. This is maybe the first time I have seen well packed, and securely strapped goods on a truck. They even used a crane to unload. Different from the 4000+ tiles we got for the roof some days earlier. Not strapped and moved from the trucks to the ground by hand. I have two pictures from the tile shop, the material here is not tree, it's concrete.  Good way to avoid the termites but get the look. What is the price on this?
