The inner stairs

Today, it's time for the inner stairs. They will get some tree steps later on, but it starts with concrete as usual.

More roof beams

The roof team have started with the first beams on the high part of the house. The H-Beams on the upper floor after some heavy lifting. Painted - first time Working high-up Welding

First bricks

Today it was time to start with the walls. We are using "Superblock" - Aerated concrete blocks, 60x20cm. They are not so heavy and very easy to work with. The mortar is like a mix between concrete and glue. We have asked the tree company to deliver frames for doors and windows so the walls will not be complete yet.

The work goes on

For some days now, the progress have focused on the roof and not so much on the rest of the building. But now it looks like there will be a lot tasks to be started that really change the looks of the house. I have collected some pictures from the last three days. The tree under the bedrooms are more or less gone, the upper floor is now strong enough, soon time to get the roof beams in place here too. Removing all the tree under the upper floor takes some time. This will be the laundry room, under roof but open on two of the sides. The roof on the lower part of the house is more or less done now. They are painting the last parts now. Soon its time for the high level roof structure and then the roof tile team from SCG will arrive. Today the truck with aerated lightweight concrete blocks arrived. Soon time to get walls.  The blocks are very easy to put in place. But I guess they need some mortar too.

Roof welding

The foof team consist of five men, four are working and one is the boss. Anyway, they are doing a great job and works quite fast too. While the roof team do the welding the others builds forms for the first floor roof pillars, I guess they will have the pillars ready within a couple of days.

Floor on first floor

Today the concrete truck arrived again, this time for the first floor. The truck can not reach up to the floor so all concrete where lifted up in buckets. The truck did have some concrete left, so they fixed a platform beside the well for the tank at the same time. Starting to water the prefab floor A lot of buckets (and people) is needed The expert Looks good Building a form, add rebar net and fill up with concrete while the truck are waiting - cool

Prefab floors on first floor

Today they added the prefab floors on the first floor and started to set up forms for the final concrete on them.

Roof work - low part

The roof team is welding the beams for the lower roof. They will still have many days left before they are ready. Still a lot to do I like the security equipment they are using??!! It will be very strong - will stand for all future snow (?)

Completing the floor beams on first floor

For some days now, the work have been focused to get the floor beams on first floor done. I have here a lot of pictures from the framework to the ready beams. Setting up the metal forms Forms in place Measures the bathroom floor A lot of tree is needed to stable the forms The concrete truck cannot get the concrete up to the forms, so there is a lot of manual lifting. Forms removed Special chemicals used to keep the concrete moist for the first important days.
