Raining and party

The weather is a bit boring today, it started raining this morning and it looks like it will continue the whole day. A storm over Vietnam is causing this weather. All workers are freezing today (only 21 degrees) and most of the work before the New Year is finished, so after taking of the forms from the pillars, the only thing to do the rest of the day is to eat, drink and dance. The sacks on the floor is to keep the floor moist. Ladies in one spot.. ..and the men in another.

Some pillar work

Christmas Day and pillar work.

Christmas eve and floor

Today the Christmas starts. We now have a concrete floor on half part of the house. They needed many cubic meters of concrete to make it ready. The pillars for the roof is next.

Rebar ladies

The ladies are experts on knitting the rebars.

Morning at Mae Phim beach

This morning we went down to the beach. Nice with a morning walk. Very much people.

Termite protection

Today the termite group arrived. They need to install pipes on the beams where chemicals will be transported and dripping out to prevent termites under the house. It's a bit scary with this chemicals, but this is how they do it when building houses and they tell it will not smell or cause any troubles. The installation and three years of maintenance was included in the contract with the builder. After that the termite team will come and fill more in the pipes when I call them. After installation they sprayed some chemicals on the soil between the beams.

Floors comming

The pre-fabricated floors for the ground floor is here. After the termite group have done their job its time to mount these. Checked the quality and they looks fine.

House building or Ship building

I'm on site now.... checking the progress. Today some concrete arrived, they was using quite high metal-forms, so a lot of tree was needed to keep things in place — it looks more like a tree ship building site than house buiding with all this supporting tree. Tomorrow we will go to Rayong, we need to finalize the price on the roof.

Next layer of beams

The ready floor on the left side of the house will be 1.2 m from the ground, so we need a second layer of beams. There will be a brick layer and then beams connected to the pillars. Many pictures below  Bricks and start with the rebars on level 2 This house will not fall apart so easily. Quite thick rebars. In some places they are using the small red bricks. They are better if you need to attach anything heavy to the wall. Wrapping the pillars with plastic so it burns slower and keep the moist. First high forms is are mounted. They need to be sure the forms doesn't break then heavy concrete is poured into the forms in a couple of days More distances to keep the rebars from the form. They need a lot.  It's not only men that have muscles, this lady bends most of the rebars.

Septic Tank and two more labors

Today the manager arrived with the septic tank and two more persons, I only have pictures of the tank.

Busy day today

The work with the forms and also to get everything strait took most of the day today. As a result of that the concrete truck arrived very late so it was almost black when every form was filled. In this part of the world it takes some minutes to go from daylight to complete darkness - it's not like a Swedish summer. I'm happy that they are serious about the quality. Quality is #1 on the agenda, if it's wrong here then everything will be wrong. Measure, measure and measure again. They need a lot of tree to keep things in place. Concrete truck is here now. Still filling and vibrating the concrete Soon ready now.
