Soffit

Time to put on soffit (Vindskivor in Swedish, Ranaeng in Thai). The builder tried to find black net to use between the roof and soffit, but it was impossible. The shops only sells blue nets. But - I guess no one will see it anyway. The soffit is made of "conwood", a kind of fiber concrete that looks like wood. The yellow conwood will be painted later on so it will look like wood. In Thailand it's quite normal to use concrete lookalike materials, the termites and other wood eating insects doesn't like it.
Concrete frame around the windows. The architect added this frames to the house. The reason is to protect the windows from water and also make it more beautiful. Most of the time builders are using premade frames,. but in this case it's made from light weight tiles and concrete.

Tiles - Good and Bad

The tile-man was working over the holiday. The builder showed him what tiles he should use in the bathroom before everyone was leaving for the holiday. Looks ok, but these tiles should be mounted outside at the front of the entrance!! One wall ready with the wrong tiles. We get pictures every day so we called the worker and told him to stop - take down the wrong tiles and set up the right ones. Ang was with her family in North-East, so no one was checking. Tiles down again. The right tiles now. Different now.

Songkram - Biggest holiday of the year

Pictures from the flying toy

The builder was to the site today with his new toy. I think he had some training now, because the pictures (and flying) was much better than before. It's many pictures - hope it doesn't take to long time to load the page.

Preparations in the bathrooms

Some preparations in the bathrooms was also done today! I have been thinking how they will solve the freshwater pipes because I havn't seen anything so far. Today I saw how they are doing.

Strange floor preparation ??

Even if the big holiday is here now, the man responsible for installation of tiles arrived today. I guess he hates holidays.... Anyway - He managed to get the few workers left on the site to make some preparations on the concrete floor. I have tried to google what they are doing, but I have not found anything about this procedure. Can anyone checking my blog help me to understand what they are doing? Here is some pictures taken by the builder:
